A Goal To Provide the Toughest Hoops (and Platform) on the Planet

Goalrilla, founded in 1991, was the 5th site of Escalade Sports to launch on their Shopify platform. The new site consolidated three brands (their premier brand Goalrilla with two new brands, Goaliath and Silverback), providing a one-stop shop for the best and toughest basketball equipment, a user-friendly interface with advanced navigation, and ease of content & product management for the Goalrilla’s marketing team.

The new replatform vision included an extensive blog to expand content, improved filtering (by brand, series, board material, backboard size, and technology), landing pages for dealers, and a robust dealer locator, allowing users to view platinum or gold dealers and display brand availability based on the dealer. With basketball hoops being a large purchase and players wanting equipment that truly replicates an in-game experience, Goalrilla focused the new user experience around educating shoppers to determine the right type of hoop to select – in-ground, portable, wall-mounted, or youth; providing multiple ways to purchase (online or at dealer locations); and providing essential installation, maintenance, and support information.

Goalrilla is owned and managed by Escalade Sports. The CQL and Escalade teams architected a repeatable model on Shopify that supports an entire portfolio of Escalade Sports equipment brands, including Goalrilla, Bear Archery, Woodplay, Fowling, STIGA, Lifeline Fitness, Onix Pickleball, Goalsetter, American Heritage Billiards, and more. CQL provided a new digital identity, mobile-first redesign, and website launches for 11 brands, including Goalrilla, in under 12 months.
