This is International Hour of Code Week. Those of you who know us at CQL, will not be surprised that we are jumping at the chance to get involved in our communities and get youth excited about careers in technology.
Last week, a local Girls Who Code chapter visited CQL to learn what it's really like to work at a software company.
This past Saturday, CQL had the opportunity to host BitCamp, a day-long coding camp for middle school girls.
CQL will host BitCamp on September 26 to encourage girls to learn to code. All 7th and 8th grade girls are welcome to attend, but registration is limited so sign up now!

There are many organizations and initiatives working to increase the number of women in Computer Science and other STEM fields. One local group, right here in Grand Rapids, is the Michigan Council of Women in Technology foundation (MCWT).
