SHOPIFY POS Case Study: VESTIQUE

Founded in 2010 by co-owners Morgan Lashley and Caroline Dunham, Vestique began as an online boutique offering stylish, affordable women’s apparel before expanding into 12 brick-and-mortar stores across the Southeast. As the brand grew, Vestique struggled to manage separate systems for its ecommerce and in-store sales, resulting in disconnected operations, inventory inaccuracies, and missed opportunities for omnichannel growth.

To unify its operations, Vestique turned to CQL for support migrating both its ecommerce and POS systems to Shopify. CQL helped configure Shopify POS, provided hands-on employee training, and built custom functionality to manage inventory availability across all channels. One of the most impactful changes was enabling Vestique to use physical stores as fulfillment centers for online orders—an innovation that proved vital during the COVID-19 pandemic when physical locations temporarily closed but continued to drive online sales from in-store inventory.

With CQL’s guidance, Vestique fully embraced Shopify’s out-of-the-box features such as store-to-store shipping and buy online, pick up in store (BOPIS), enhancing convenience for customers and increasing in-store upsells. The brand also benefited from Shopify’s intuitive reporting and easy-to-learn interface, allowing new hires to get up to speed quickly. Since migrating to Shopify POS in 2019, Vestique has seen measurable growth, including an 18% sales increase in 2020, a 13% increase in 2021, and three new store openings in 2023, cementing Shopify as the foundation for its continued success.
