Thanksgiving Reflections: What We’re Thankful For In 2022

Thanksgiving Reflections

This is the season to be thankful, to remember and embrace all the blessings in our lives. In the words of Norman Vincent Peale, “The more you practice the art of thankfulness, the more you have to be thankful for.”

Our team reflected this week on our blessings in our life and put into words all that we are truly thankful for in this season of thanksgiving. May you be surrounded by friends and family this holiday season, your heart aware of all of our blessings, and your soul filled with gratitude for this year. CQL Gives Thanks

Aubrey Baker

Thankful for a year of growth and learning new skills– friends that have been teaching me to sail, a wonderful Egyptian Arabic teacher, and a whole set of resources who have helped me through the house buying/shopping process in the U.S. Virgin Islands (which has been substantially more complicated than in the States). I am very thankful to have the house buying process coming to a close with me moving into my new home a couple of weeks after Thanksgiving!

Casey Lewis

I am thankful for the health and good fortune of my family.

Cathy Monday

I am thankful for the life that God has given me. The family He has blessed me with, the people He has put into my life, the opportunities He has provided and so so so much more. Everyday is a blessing and I am constantly reminded how amazing He truly is.

Darian Bonnell

I am thankful to be surrounded by people in my life that are constantly driving me to be a better husband, father, friend, co-worker, and follower of Jesus Christ. So much has happened for our family over the past year, and without the guidance of the Lord and those around me, I would not be where I am today.

David MacArthur

Blessed to have some many wonderful people in my life — friends, family and co-workers… and also the fat little squirrel that visits our front yard everyday.

Edward Gemayel

Very thankful to have been given the opportunity to join the amazing CQL team this year! They believed in me and gave me all the tools to succeed. Feeling blessed for that.

Eric Erickson

Very thankful for another year of experiencing God’s direction, good health, a loving family, genius and inspiring co-workers and a crazy fun aussie dog.

Eric Petroelje

I an thankful to God for leading me through another year, and for all the blessings He has sent to me, my family, and CQL.

Hillary Whan

I am thankful for God’s guidance and leadership in my life. He led me to CQL which has been tremendous blessing. I am thankful for the friendships that have growth this year. I am blessed with a loving husband, amazing children and a supportive family. I am thankful for my health. My cup truly runs over!!

Jen Sipich

I am thankful everyday for my health and family, a teenager that is pretty laid back and easy, and our circle of friends that are always there to share life’s adventures with.

Keena Briggs

Truly blessed – too many things to be thankful for right now! My fabulous family, wonderful CQL family, and health would be the biggest.

Kevin Antel

As I approach my 28th year at CQL, I think about all the twists and turns, the ups and downs, and the sleepless nights that got us to this point. I wouldn’t change any of it as it is the path that I believe we needed to be on. God has been faithful to us and our CQL family through it all. I truly feel blessed that He has brought the people into this organization to build and support, and to provide world class craftmanship to our customers.

All those years ago, I would have never expected to be where we are today. To have the incredible people I get to call family and friends to work alongside. To be working with amazing customers that can bring joy, and frustration, as we navigate their challenges together. But through it all, our team gets to live the values of this organization and I think that’s the most amazing thing to be part of.

I am eternally grateful for the part that every person, throughout the years, has played at CQL. For those that challenged and pushed us to instill change, to adapt, and to grow as a CQL family. For those who have worked alongside me for 2 months, to almost 24 years. Everyone has impacted this organization in some positive way.

Thank you and God bless you and your families as we enter into this Thanksgiving season!

Kevin Messing

This year I am grateful for the supportive friends and family that I have around me. One of my favorite Christian ideas is that a good life is poured out, not accumulated. I think we’re all at our best when we live that way for each other. This Thanksgiving I am thankful for the people in my life that have showed me love and kindness and inspire me to live that way for others.

Kira Marzec

This year I’m very thankful the new opportunities and challenges that have been presented to me. I’m thankful to be blessed with good health and a supportive and loving partner and family members. I’m so very thankful to be a parent and all that goes with it. And last but not least, I am so thankful to have the opportunity to ride horses again and experience the love and personality of a such a curious and social creature.

Kirstin Burns

I’m very thankful for my family and for the free time to be able to pursue my hobbies.

Larissa Field

I’m thankful for… The never-ending love and support of my friends and family. Making it over a year without evicting any more organs. Project work that always keeps me on my toes. My cat protecting me from the boogeyman at night by sleeping on my face. Meeting new teammates and friends both in-state and across the world. My dog getting over his random and short-lived fear of Slack notification sounds. Having the opportunity to help to shape CQL as we continue to grow. Working with a bunch of nerds that appreciate my jokes (or at least tolerate them). Getting to spend another year working with an amazing team. I am not so thankful for the foot+ of snow dropping the week before Thanksgiving. Nope.

Louis Grabowski

I am thankful for a healthy family, great job, and a stocked liquor cabinet. Also thankful for a catastropheless year!

Lydia Wodarek

I’m thankful for my wonderful and loving family (especially my amazing husband who puts up with my insanity every single day), fantastic teammates who are so much fun to work with and who are friends as much as coworkers, my adorable and goofy fluffball of a doggo who constantly makes me smile and laugh, a newly-fenced-in backyard where we can play with the aforementioned doggo and any/all of her canine pals, the opportunity to join the Calvin Community Symphony and play in an actual music group again this year, and so much more!

Mark Lardieri

I am thankful that no matter what occurs in this world or in my life, God is in control. In this season of my life where there have been unexpected losses in our family and suffering revealed, God remains gracious in His lovingkindness. It is a grace I do not deserve but I am thankful to have it.

Mary Krause
