Mobile Platform / Apple iPhone Development

Overview:

The development of mobile applications is a core strategic direction for CQL, Inc. Through Apple's iPhone/iTouch framework, CQL is helping organizations extend content to an expanded marketplace. Additionally, organizations are taking advantage of this platform to improve the marketing of their offerings and expand their revenues.

As an Apple Developer Connection Member, CQL continues to work with businesses and content providers to help organizations realize their potential in the world of mobile development platforms.

Examples:

A-Z Bible Meditation: This free iPhone Application was developed as a way for parents to help their children remember the alphabet while memorizing verses from the Bible. The A-Z Bible Meditation application utilizes verses from the New International Version (NIV), Today's New International Version (TNIV), and the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible.

Application Features:

  • Bible Verses Listed in Alphabetical Order - This would be the main feature of the application and will show one of the 26 associated verses (depending upon which Bible Version you are using). While viewing a Bible verse, the user will be able to move to the next verse or to the other features of the app. Note: In some instances, different verses were selected for the different Bible versions used in this application.

  • Scroll The Deck - This secondary feature will let users navigate through all Bible Verses. A user can pause on one for as long as they like, to reflect on the verse. The idea is basically a visual cue that lets the user move to the previous or next card. Of course they can do that by flicking (as it's known within the Apple community), but the guidelines are to provide multiple ways to view the content.

  • World Connection - This feature takes advantage of the geo-location of the iPhone/iTouch by asking the user for access to their current location (this is a common element for iPhone/iTouch applications). That current location is sent to a server and saved there - without any personal information - just the location (latitude and longitude) and the date/time stamp. All of this happens behind the scenes, so when a user clicks on the globe icon (i.e., the navigation link) they will see the globe and it will glow with dots of light that represent all the other users of the application, with their own location being highlighted.

Additionally, the user is able to move the globe, as well as increase and decrease the size, so they can zoom in and out on a location.

  • Information/About Us - Additional information is provided in this area (e.g., how to use the features of the application, as well as links to our website.
