Enterprise-wide Computing
In healthcare language, EAC is a "gatekeeper".
EAC's mental health professionals evaluate and provide
services for people who are seeking therapy under an
employer's healthcare program.
EAC's professionals are constantly mobile. Services
can be delivered through one of EAC's facilities, as
well as through remote facilities, with some assessments
taking place by phone. The challenge of having a real-time
appointment system and a professional time recording
system accessible to everyone in the organization began
taking epic proportions as the company grew.
CQL conducted a bottom-up assessment of the requirements,
to help provide a system design that would scale with
EAC's continued growth. CQL's experience working with
large, global, highly-connected organizations helped
provide the vision for the most appropriate system design.
Now, when a patient books an appointment (either through
the on-line directory or by phone), the time is removed
from "inventory", a reminder to the professional
is generated, and, in advance, the proper documentation
and files are available to the professional. As the
professional updates the patient record, the system
prompts for a time report, which is then used to generate
billing and to provide audit documentation.
The web-based system, built from the ground up by CQL
provides functionality that is more specific to EAC's
business than off-the-shelf software, and it was fully
deployed in less time and for less investment.
